I found an instruction for a cute notebook that is simply made with folded paper as pages and playing cards as cover.
That could be a nice quick small present.

Library Pocket Book
I found a tutorial on how to make a wonderful library pocket book.
Though our library doesn’t have such library pockets and I don’t feel like buying them in internet.
That is why I designed some pockets myself. If you like you can download my library pocket template (link see below).
I’m planning to make a book where the pockets are made from patterned paper, the flower paper on the photo e.g.
For that purpose I will print the template, glue the paper so, that it is patterned on both sides and then cut the pockets from the template.
And then I will begin to embellish ;-))

Mini Recycle Bin Books
People who craft a lot with paper often have many interesting papers laying around, but mostly scrap you can only make cards from.
But now I found a tutorial on how to make mini recycle bin books, which I find great!
Soon I will have to comb through my piles ;-))

Easily Remove Pages From Books
If you want to make Altered Books or Artist Books, or maybe book purses, or you want possibly remove individual book pages to make a beautiful card, then the tutorial on how to easily remove pages from books may be helpful: you moist a thread, lay it into the book at the place where you want to remove a page, close the book firmly, so that the moisture can enter the paper and then you can tear the paper cleanly.
It’s the same principle as for tearing paper, but here the moist line is certainly straight and much thinner.
Ingenious!

Photo Flip Book
I always found flip books fascinating, therefore I had to present an instruction on how to make it youself from your own film.
I really must try it one day ;-)
Recycle books
Soon it may be that you get lots of books. You want perhaps to get rid of some old books – or even some new ;-))
Via How to Make and Do-How to recycle Books I found a tutorial for a really great book lamp.
There you can find other good ideas, too.
Find more ideas at How can I Recycle This?, e.g. to make an Altered Book from.
Then I found a tutorial on how to make a book lampstand (which I don’t find as beautiful as the book lamp, but it ‘uses’ more books ;-)).
I also liked the Bookhooks and Romans a clef great as an inspiration for crafters ;-)
I guess that you can make jewelry stands in the same way?!
I also found the book book ends, the book safe and another book safe, the “Audiobook” (an iPod case), the book book shelf and and and … ;-)

Photo Bookmarks
While checking my feeds I found a tutorial for a photo bookmark: easy and absolutely stunning!
I haven’t done it yet, because my friend refuses sternly to let me take a photo ;-))

Notebook Purse
I love those book purses, although I haven’t made any yet (up until now I’m only collecting links to tutorials ;-)).
At craftster.org I found a tutorial on how to make a really cute notebook purse that I had to put immediately on my to-do list.

Artist Book
As mentioned before in the entry about paper beads, I once created an artist book.
Step Outside Your Box Saturdays posted this week a challenge about books and I thought it an opportunity to show my artist book ‘blickkontakt’ (which means ‘eye contact’).
I wanted ‘blickkontakt’ to give the viewer many surprises to discover and created therefore several windows and fold-outs.
The pages were created from cardboard and covered in hand-stained papers. Then I stamped, embroidered, tape transfered, sketched, scribbled and glued.
Enjoy the pictures

The cover with the round medaillon in its ‘pocket’. Along the spine I let hang the threads with the paper beads.
Still the cover, but this time showing the backside of the round medaillon.
Pages 1 & 2: You see the eye through a round window, the spirals are hand-embroidered, the little altered slide can be put into the lace pocket.
Pages 3 & 4: The images are tape transfered, the flourishes are hand-embroidered.
Pages 5 & 6: I stamped, wove paper, embroidered, crocheted. The dark circle is a free swinging altered bottle cap, the semicircle on the left upper side is a fold-out, where I glued a hand-beaded star.
(Unfortunately the tape transfers gleam so, that you can’t see their motif.)
Pages 7 & 8: I cut two little round windows into the right page.
The raffia forms a little pocket, where I put a transparent tape transfer tag.
Pages 9 & 10: Stamping, tape transfers, embroidered spirals, fold-outs, hand-stained crochet flower and hand-made bead fringe.
The verso with tape transfers, stamps and a ringlet from a fake hairpiece.
I created more artist books, if you like to see them, take a look at Art.

Book Necklace
I liked this cute little book necklace at once and bookmarked immediately the tutorial on how to make it .
I haven’t made it yet (I fear that it could be to fiddly for me ;-)), but one day I’ll try it.
