Peyote Triangle Bracelet

thisyearsdozen_wordpress Peyote Triangle Bracelet

Recently I browsed the internet for Peyote bead work and this way I found the instruction on how to make a Peyote triangle bracelet (see instead this diagram).
Looks great, doesn’t it?

My to-do-list gets longer and longer ;-))

Crazy Daisy Ring

unikatissima Crazy Daisy Ring

After having played around with Crazy Daisies (see links below) I found out that you can make a ring from them very easily.

unikatissima Crazy Daisy Ring You take a Crazy Daisy (instructions see links below) and attach a ring ;-)

unikatissima Crazy Daisy Ring In this case I made and attached a simple, single-coloured Kumihimo strap from the same yarn I used for the Crazy Daisy.
I could have used a simple wire ring, similar to the River Troll Ring, a woven ring, a macramé ring similar to the Beaded Macramé Bracelet, a fingerlooped ring, a crocheted or knitted ring, a simple beaded ring, a Peyote Ring, etc etc etc ;-))

Peyote Bangles

Peyote Bangles

As I saw the tutorial on how to make Peyote Bangles tutorial on how to make Peyote Bangles I bookmarked it immediately.
It seems to be so easy (although this technique seems only to work with slender bangles) – just the right technique for me ;-))
There is another tutorial for stripes bangles tutorial for stripes bangles – looks also great.

Beaded Beads

Beaded Beads

Every beader wants to try a beaded bead sometime.
It isn’t easy to figure out by yourself how to do this, so I want to present several links which show how to bead different beads from beads.
Ehm… ;-))
The beaded beads on the photo were all woven by me around a bigger bead inside.

Beaded Dragon Strap

Beaded Dragon Strap

Today I’d like to present a beautiful Peyote strap with saw teeth, Sally’s Dragon Strap.
To work a Peyote strap is ‘easy’ (for tutorials see links below), but following this pattern is more difficult and figuring out how to add those saw teeth is great ;-)

Wrap a Rock

Wrap a Rock

Embellishing rocks seems to be quite popular. Some people paint them, some people embroider them, some people felt them, some people wrap them in lace, some people wrap them in polymer clay, some people crochet them and some people bead them.
And if you want them to be fragrant, check back the previous mentioned Fragrant Rocks.
I never did anything with rocks, because I’m living on sandy ground ;-)
But all those rocks rock ;-)

Tubular Bead Weave Tension

Tubular Bead Weave Tension

Once I begun to work a beaded amulet bag (which ended as an UFO ;-)). I worked it around a tube and could have done with the instructions on how to get the tension right.
But this wasn’t the main problem, the main problem was that I don’t know what to do with an amulet bag ;-))
I think that the technique to get a perfect tension for tubular weave can be used too for a Peyote ring, but then you must work in rounds, not in rows as the Peyote ring.
I had this idea with the ring just now, so that I haven’t tried it.

Chopsticks into Hairsticks

Chopsticks into Hairsticks

When I saw the tutorial on how to make hairsticks from chopsticks I loved it!
What a great idea. And a beautiful project to practise the Peyote stitch ;-) (for links to learn Peyote see below).
I haven’t done it yet, because hairsticks never keep my hair (it’s too thin ;-( ).
But who knows? ;-)

Peyote Variations

Peyote Variations

I love the peyote pattern, but sometimes it is nice to make some variations on it.
On the photo you see a detail from one of my Freeform Peyote items where the pink beads form a ‘Peyote-1 drop’ pattern, but the orange and gold part is worked in with a combination of ‘Peyote-1 drop’ and ‘Peyote-2 drop’: the golden beads are wider than the golden, so I made a ‘Peyote-1 drop’ for the golden beads and a ‘Peyote-2 drop’ for the orange beads.

Beaded Bottle

Beaded Bottle Beaded Bottle

For some time I worked a lot with beads and the peyote stitch. Then I found a tutorial on how to bead a bottle and was thrilled – not only about the tutorial, but about my own results as well ;-))
On the photos you can see two of my beaded bottles. I embellished the bottleneck of the blue one with funky fibers, the beading was made with a kind of bead soup* (I only used beads of the same size). The brown-golden one was made with just two sorts of beads, but I added some peyote ruffles at the bottleneck and a wire to use the little bottle as mini vase.

Beaded Bottle The third photo shows the bottom of the blue bottle.
* ‘Bead soup’ is on the whole an assortment of different beads, often with beads of different sizes and shapes. Many beaders use it for Freeform Peyote, but it can be used for many beading purposes. If you want to string the beads, use a bead spinner.
