River Troll Ring

Chicken Betty River Troll Ring

Needless to say that you can also put jewelry into the advent calendar boxes, such as this lovely River Troll Ring.
It looks as if you could make quasi on the spur of the moment and that it would always be a unique and personal item.
I simply find it beautiful!

Make your own Wire Jig

unikatissima Make your own Wire Jig

A Wire Jig is a kind of board with pins where you can wind the wire. It is used for making jewelry.

And now I know how to make my own wire jig.
As you can see on the photo I gathered the pins already, I only have to find a wooden plate ;-)

And when you gathered all the elements of the wire jig, you can begin to make beautiful wire jewelry.

Weave a Ring

unikatissima Weave a Ring
As said before, I like to play around with weaving.
The other day I thought: Why not weave a ring?
I think that it worked out amazingly good ;-))

Material:

  • Yarn
  • Needle
  • Finger replacement ;-)
That is a roll of firmly rolled paper, it must be a little broader than your finger.

What to do:

Wind the yarn around the finger replacement and knot.

Then wind the next round, in doing so pass the yarn under itself.

Repeat the last step as long as you reach the ring’s width.

Now begin to weave: pass the yarn over and under the threads.

And that’s how the rings can look.
You have now a ring that you can embellish, e.g. with buttons or beads.

This technique surely can be enhanced, but it is fun already :)
Have fun!

Beaded Rings and Headbands

Beaded Rings and Headbands

Beading is such a versatile technique and once I found some quick and simple projects: beaded rings and headbands.
The headbands are made in flat netting technique and as daisy chains, the rings are made in brick stitch, which isn’t difficult, too (the site provides links and diagrams who explain/show how to do the different stitches).

I like the flat netting technique, but beaded until now only small glass tubes (see photo).

Coin Ring

Browsing craftster I found one day the thread about coin rings.
Somewhere in the thread is also a link to a tutorial on how to make your own coin ring (with many explaining pictures).
I can’t image that I will ever do this, but I find it interesting enough to present it here.

Perhaps someone wants to make their weddings rings this way? ;-))
