Paper Mache Bowl

unikatissima Papermache Bowl

Again I found a tutorial for making paper bowls. I found the bowls nice but not the way I wanted them.
Therefore I glued three, four layers of white tissue paper on using wallpaper glue – the ‘quite normal’ paper mache technique.
I really like this bowl, although I should possibly paint it.

There are many recipes for making papier mache which I still want to try out.
On the photo you see one of my many UFO’s ;-)
It is a wall-vase-to-be, made with tore newspaper stripes and ready to use wall paste.

Light Bulb Window Vase

Light Bulb Window Vase

I really liked the idea of making a little window vase out of a recycled light bulb (for tutorials see Links below).
And I had to try it myself ;-))
On the photo you see my first attempt. I wrapped it with paper maché and have not yet formed a wire to hold it. And as I made the photo, I had no flower either ;-)
So I took one of my crocheted flowers and – voilĂ  ;-)

Self-made Lamp

Self-made Lamp

This isn’t a real instruction but more of an inspiration. At Atelier Verena you can follow a class about recycling. At her website, Atelier Verena describes how to make your own recycled lamp (last item on page): glue two terracotta pots together, wrap them with fabric, use some fabric stiffener and paint it with acrylic colour.
I haven’t done it yet, but I think that you also can wrap the glued pots with paper mache or plaster of paris and do some kind of collage or decoupage or glueing interesting tissues an it and so forth.

Double-Sided Paper Mache Bowl

Double-Sided Paper Mache Bowl

I found many a beautiful paper mache bowl in internet and I like those compact bowls, so this tutorial this tutorial was like made for me ;-)
I tried the technique and it worked out well and looked great. Unfortunately I gave them away (I made two bowls in different sizes) and don’t have any photo of them.
