One of the beautiful applications of polymer clay is the imitation of precious materials. Therefore I loved the tutorial on how to make faux ivory.
On the photo you see a pendant with faux ivory I made quite a time ago and I still like the combination of this matte shining black and the pale ivory.

The tutorial on how to make a faux fossilized agatized coral tutorial on how to make a faux fossilized agatized coral was one of the reasons I began to work with polymer clay – and it became one of the first polymer clay canes I ever made.
As seen on the 2nd photo I decorated a jar with this cane which holds a lot of my often needed tools ;-))

I love to imitate things, so I had to check immediately the tutorial on how to make faux silk for cards.
On the photo you see my results: I took one of my self carved eraser stamps, coloured it with a marker and stamped on tissue paper (the left flower). Then, just to see what happens, I stamped two more times. The photo isn’t so good, but the pale stamps look elegant. On the third I didn’t smooth the paper to allow for more crinkles.
I will use this technique more often.

I decorated the self-made candle holder on the photo with the Faux Leather Background technique and found it great. This technique can as well be used when making cards.
On the net I found different tutorials on how to make Faux Leather Backgrounds using the masking tape technique. One of them is the tutorial on the Faux Leather Masking Tape Background Technique by Trish Bayley.
