The photo is extra small – it gives you just an idea of what you will knit but (hopefully ;-)) don’t spoil the surprise.
Note:
I opened a group unikatissima at ravelry where you can discuss this pattern and my other patterns, too.
You can register at ravelry with your username and a valid email address only, with all other information about you it’s up to you whether you give them (at least it was like this when I registered ;-)).
unikatissima’s lace pattern Christmas rose
About the pattern:
- The pattern is a
- multiple of 16 + 2 stitches,
- needs at least 2 edge stitches extra and
- the whole length are 550 rows.
- For my shawl I knitted
- 3x the pattern repeat (i.e. 50 sts) with
- about 505 m sock’s wool (meant for needles of 2,5 – 3 mm) (ca. 120 g of wool) with
- needles of 4,5 mm and
- got a shawl of appr. 30 x 180 cm.
But the size always depends on your gauge and also on the way you knit
– I’m always knitting very loosely.

unikatissima’s lace knitter’s advent calendar 2010 is finished now, but the shawl is still most beautiful ;-))
Therefore you can get the whole pattern in just one file here at ravelry:

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Have a wonderful holiday season!
Thank you so much for this lovely pattern. Happy Christmas!
THank you for the lovely pattern. Our best to you and yours for a wonderful holiday season and a Happy Healthy New Year
Dear all,
I’m so happy! :)
I didn’t find out about your KAL before today, rooo late to start/finish it for Christmas.
I love it, though, perhaps I will knit it in a pastel colour for spring.
Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
Susann,
This pattern is a wonderful way for many of us to learn many basic lace patterns, and how to make the knitting flow from one stitch pattern to the next. Thank you.
I do have one question; have not been on your forum for several days, so this may already be answered there; but do you recommend a particular Bind-Off?
@Lisa,
that’s no problem, because I will offer the whole pattern in one file after Christmas.
And I’d be glad if someone would knit it for spring, I feel, that the scarf deserves this ;-)
Have a good time :)
@LunaG,
thank you :)
“do you recommend a particular Bind-Off?”
No. And the reason is that I’m not very experienced in this field ;-)
If you don’t know what to do, I strongly suggest to ask the question in the ravelry group unikatissima, they are (very kind) people there who seem to be highly experienced in this field (lace knitting).
And I’ve seen that the Google search for ‘how to bind-off knitted lace’ brings a lot of results.
I hope that this helps
and wish you good success :)
Susann
This is a beautiful pattern! Thank you for sharing your time and talent with all of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for this beautiful design. I haven’t got to knit it yet…but now that all the Christmas knitting is done I have it ready to go! Merry Christmas!
Wyszedł piekny szal. Dziękuję za udostępnienie wzoru. Życze miłych i radosnych Świat Bożego Narodzenia
Happy Christmasdays for you!
Im so sad, I gathered the clues of the Christmas Shawl until december 19th. Then I visited my family and today when I tried to complete until december 24th it was’nt possible. I tried it on Ravelry…nothig happens. “Page not found” is the comment. How can I get the days december 20th to 24th?
Best wishes Ingeborg/celtica
Thank you all for your kind words :)
And Dziękuję bardzo to Grahasil (I’m so glad that there’s the Google translation, otherwise I hadn’t know whether this is spam or kind ;-))
Ingeborg,
sorry, I had to change a couple of things and forgot to update this file.
I will fix it asap!
Fixed :)
You can now download the whole pattern on top or – if you already had nearly everything – for some time the last four days.
Best wishes
Susann
I would name your blog the dreamland! While Santa knocks at our door just once per year, you blog is open the whole year – wow!
