I find that ‘knitted shawl’ falls short of this shawl, but ‘Great and elegant shawl with holes to draw through and many possible fields of application’ would simply had gone beyond the scope of the title ;-)

Did you know that there a many different ways to wear a stole?
I found this point interesting because my Lace Knitter’s Advent Calendar of this year can easily be knitted broad enough to get a stole.
The Advent calendars of 2010 and 2011, too, by the way ;-)
If you only knit it in the width of a scarf, you may want to look at the instructions in the scarf tying guides (1 and 2) or at scarf wrapping ;-)

I love scarves but they never look the way I want them to.
Now I found the scarf tying guide which is a great help to me.
I must admit: Literally it is no craft instruction but concerning me: Illiterally it is, because I always broke my fingers on scarf tying ;-))
