Sliding Clasps

free-macrame-patterns Sliding Clasps

I presented a sliding knot before, here they’re talking more about tipps what to take into consideration if making sliding clasps and which knots can be used to make designs of your own.

And if you don’t like sliding clasps try a self-made hook and eye clasp or a beaded shank button ;-)

Sliding Knots

rubysbeadwork Sliding Knots

When you’ve made yourself some beautiful paper beads or plastic bag beads, you may want to make a necklace with them.
And if you don’t have a closure at hand use simply this sliding knots necklace.
If you don’t like it, you can always more or less quick make a closure yourself ;-)

Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments

unikatissima Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments

When I saw the drinking straw pin I thought: ‘Oh yes, I want!’ ;-)

unikatissima Drinking Straw Jewelry and Ornaments It is quite easy: I took two different coloured drinking straws, cut them (veeery carefully!) into spirals with an X-acto knife und knotted them (not too firm) together.
This way my little ball stays in form without glue, sewing or the like.
I wanted to cut them first with scissors but I got ugly edges, the cut must be made with a really sharp cutting tool.

I find it cute as well as jewelry as well as tree ornament ;-)

Knit and Felt a Knot Bracelet

resurrection fern Knit-Felted Bangle Bracelet

These knit-felted knot bracelets are cute, aren’t they?

I think that you can surely make them with filled I-cords, too, then they are more firm (only take care about what happens to the filling when felting with hot water!). In principle it’s what Sue suggested in her comment.

Or the whole thing may be even possible with a buttoned I-cord bracelet, where the original was made with beads. When using glass buttons or glass beads it should be no problem to felt it (but I haven’t tried it yet).

Possibly you can even use filled and felted I-cords to make a fabric bowl from?!

And when you felt some of the cords of the cute spaghetti scrap scarf it surely looks great, too.

Oof, soo many ideas ;-))

Celtic Circle Knot

Free-Macrame-Patterns_com - Celtic Circle Knot

I find this Celtic Circle Knot really beautiful and imagine it depending on the used yarn as an ornament on a card, a pin or a hair decoration.
But I can’t show my own photo yet because my fingers were up until now much too clumsy for it ;-))

And when I have worked it out I can possibly even design my own Celtic Knot ;-)

T-Shirt Necklace

cucumbersome T-Shirt Necklace

I presented already some tutorials with t-shirts, this time it is about making a necklace from the t-shirt (the link isn’t available no more, but she presents a tutorial for a recycled t-shirt bracelet which is done similarly).
When I heard it first I thought: ‘That’s silly’ but the photos convinced me that it’s not ;-)

And if you don’t have a t-shirt at hand take some old stockings ;-)

Cross Stitch Patterns Treasures

myauntsattic Cross Stitch Patterns

I found a blog where the author fetched the cross stitch patterns of an old aunt from the attic and published them.
I saw beautiful patterns thereby and it’s not as if you had to work cross stitch only with the patterns ;-)

The blog is written in Netherlands and English (the italic text), but the patterns can be recognized anyhow ;-))

Cabled ‘O’

unikatissima Cabled O

I was thinking about how to make beautiful curvatures from knitted cables when I found the instruction shortly afterwards :)

unikatissima Cabled O On the photos you can see my try – so it works ;-))

I’m curious about what kind of Celtic Knots I will be able to make now ;-))
